Apex Youth Council Nov 12th, 2024
This was another coaching session for upper middle and high schoolers, hosted at the Apex Senior Center, through the youth volunteering program Apex Youth Council. We worked on building public speaking skills in a super fun and engaging way. We encouraged them to speak out, connect with new people, and use their skills to speak in front of the class, give feedback, and network with their group members. It was awesome watching them step out of their comfort zones and grow!
Cary Teen Council

A volunteering organization for teens, Cary Teen Council offered us the chance to host another coaching session for upper middle and high schoolers at the Cary Senior Center. We sharpened their public speaking skills through a mix of fun, interactive activities, and group feedback sessions. The focus was on building their confidence and giving them the chance to learn not just from us, but also from each other. Watching their growth and enthusiasm made the experience super rewarding, and honestly, a blast!
Salem Middle School

Outreach to local Wake County schools was difficult, but we managed to get a response from Salem Middle School, where we graciously offered to teach public speaking to students at that school. From engaging in various fun activities to setting time aside to reflect and think deeply about the meaning of public speaking, we are truly grateful to Salem Middle for allowing us the chance to present at their school during class time. We truly enjoyed getting the chance to connect with our youth and we had such a great time!
First Tee Triangle May 2023
Through the non-profit First-Tee Triangle, we were given the opportunity to host a public speaking workshop at ParTee Shack in Raleigh. NC. This was our first in-person teaching experience where we worked with middle and high school students to teach essential public speaking skills through engaging activities and practice. Focused on building confidence, effective communication, and having fun while learning, we left everyone with big, happy smiles!
